Gifts for Homeowners Who Have Everything: Robots That Take a Chore Away

Last updated: October 2026

For someone who has everything, give back time. Pick the chore they complain about most, then choose a machine that takes it over: a window robot for tall glass, a vacuum mop robot for hard floors, a pool robot or solar skimmer for pool owners, and a snow or yard robot for a large property. Check that it fits their home before you buy.

How do you choose a gift like this?

Three questions keep you from buying the wrong thing.

1. Which chore do they dislike most? Listen for it. "I spent all Saturday on the leaves." "I hate cleaning those windows."
2. Does it fit their home? A pool robot needs a pool of the right size. A snow robot needs a driveway under its slope limit.
3. Will they set it up? Some gifts work out of the box. Others need an afternoon, and are best given with an offer to help.

What are the options by chore?

For the person with tall or awkward windows

A window cleaning robot holds to the glass by suction and wipes it automatically, which means no ladder.

• HOBOT-298: 6.0 kg of suction, an ultrasonic water spray and about 40 m² of glass per 40 ml tank, per HOBOT. A safety rope and a 20 minute backup battery are included.
• HOBOT-2S: two spray nozzles and Edge-Leakage Sensors for frameless glass, with the HOBOT app.

Good for: parents and grandparents who should stay off ladders, and anyone with a wall of glass. See do window cleaning robots work?

For the person who mops every week

The HOBOT LEGEE-688 vacuums, dry mops, sprays and wet mops in one pass, with a pad that moves up to 600 times a minute and seven cleaning modes, per HOBOT. It runs up to 90 minutes.

Good for: pet owners, busy families and homes with mostly hard floors. It is at its most useful in winter, when salt and grit come in on boots. See what is a vacuum mop robot?

For the pool owner

A pool gift in December is a gift for spring, and it gives the owner something to look forward to. Two kinds:

A surface skimmer floats on the pool, runs on solar power and collects leaves before they sink.

• Betta SE: solar powered with a wireless remote and salt chlorine tolerant motors.
• Betta SE Plus: adds AC adapter charging for shaded pools.
• WYBOT F1: a 33 W solar panel and a 7 L basket.

A floor robot vacuums and scrubs the floor, walls and waterline.

• WYBOT C1: pools up to 1,615 sq ft, app scheduling, 2-year warranty.
• Aiper Scuba N1 Plus: in-ground pools up to 1,600 sq ft, up to 180 minutes.
• Beatbot Sora 30: 6,800 GPH suction and about 3,230 sq ft of coverage.

Before you buy: find out the pool's size and whether it is in-ground or above-ground. See cordless vs corded pool robots and do solar pool skimmers work? If it arrives in winter, it stores indoors until the pool opens.

For the person with a hill to mow

The Mowrator S1 is a remote control mower. The owner stands on level ground and steers. Mowrator rates the 2WD for 45% (24°) slopes and the 4WD for 75% (37°). In fall it vacuums leaves, and the 4WD takes a snow plow kit.

Good for: rural properties, steep banks, and people who like running machines. It is the most fun to use of anything on this page. See are remote control lawn mowers worth it?

For the person with a long driveway

A robot snow blower clears the drive without anyone going outside. The Yarbo Y40P Snow Blower is a two-stage machine with a 24 inch path that throws snow 6 to 40 feet and clears up to 7,000 sq ft per charge in 1 inch of snow, per Yarbo.

Good for: a parent who should no longer shovel, a household with early commutes, or a family pooling money for one significant gift. See snow removal for seniors.

Before you buy: the driveway's slope must be under 36% (20°), and it needs a spot for a dock with power. Setup takes a day and is best done before the first storm. See do robot snow blowers work?

For the person with a large property

The Yarbo Core is a self-driving base that takes a mower, a leaf blower and a snow blower, so one gift covers every season. See which Yarbo package should you buy?

This is a major purchase. It suits a family buying together, or someone buying for their own household.

What about smaller gifts for someone who already owns a robot?

Owners appreciate the practical things they would not buy for themselves.

How do you make sure it fits?

Get three facts without spoiling the surprise.

• Pool: approximate size and type.
• Driveway: length, width and whether it is steep.
• Windows: framed or frameless, and roughly how big.

What if it is not right?
