The Sora 30 cleans the floor, walls, waterline and shallow platforms in water as shallow as 8 inches. When the cycle ends it floats to the surface and parks at the edge, so there is no fishing a robot off the bottom. Beatbot rates it for up to 5 hours of floor cleaning.

How is the Sora 30 different from the Sora 10?

Per Beatbot, the Sora 30 has a larger 10,000 mAh battery, four bottom roller brushes instead of two front brushes, a 5.2 L basket, cleans ledges from 8 inches of water instead of 12, and parks on the water surface with one-tap retrieval in the app.

Can the Sora 30 clean a sun shelf or tanning ledge?

Yes, in Standard mode. Beatbot says the water on the platform must be deeper than 8 inches (0.2 m) and the platform at least 3.3 ft by 3.3 ft.

Can the Sora 30 be used in a saltwater pool?

Yes. Beatbot rates it for saltwater pools with a salt level up to 5,000 ppm.

Which Beatbot robots clean the water surface?

The Sora 70, AquaSense 2 Pro, AquaSense 2 Ultra and AquaSense X skim the surface. The Sora 10, Sora 30, AquaSense and AquaSense 2 clean the floor, walls and waterline; pair one with an iSkim solar skimmer for the surface.

Do Beatbot robots work in above-ground and vinyl pools?

Yes. Beatbot lists in-ground and above-ground pools of any shape, with concrete, ceramic tile, vinyl or fiberglass finishes.

Can I control the robot from the app while it is underwater?

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth do not travel well through water, so the app connects when the robot is at the surface or out of the pool. The buttons on the robot start every cleaning mode without the app.

Does a pool robot replace my filter and chemicals?

No. A robot removes debris; it does not balance the water. Keep running your pump, filter and chemical treatment. Beatbot notes that unbalanced water can reduce a robot's efficiency and wear its parts sooner.
