One Yarbo Core takes a mower, a leaf blower and a snow blower. Here is what the robot does each month of the year, when to swap modules, and the upkeep that goes with each season.
Last updated: November 2026
A Yarbo is a robot base, the Core, that runs different modules through the year: the Lawn Mower Pro from spring to fall, the Leaf Blower in autumn, and the Snow Blower in winter. You swap modules as the seasons change. In a typical northern year that means mowing from about April to October, clearing leaves from October to early December, and clearing snow from the first storm until spring. The calendar below shows what the robot does and what you do each month.

Searches for "yarbo yard robot" are rising fast this month, and the most common question behind them is: what does it actually do all year? Here is a month-by-month answer for a property in a snowy US region. Adjust for your climate.
| Part | Job | Key figures, per Yarbo |
|---|---|---|
| Yarbo Y40 Core or Y40P Core | Drives, navigates, charges | Climbs 70% (35°), RTK and vision, -13°F to 113°F |
| Lawn Mower Pro module | Mowing | 20 in cut, 0.8 to 4 in height, up to 6 acres a week on Y40, 7 on Y40P |
| Leaf Blower module | Leaves and debris | 174 mph air at 607 CFM |
| Snow Blower module | Snow | 2-stage, 24 in path, throws 6 to 40 ft |
Robot: Snow Blower on. Clears scheduled or app-started runs during and after storms, recharges at the dock between passes.
You: Break up the street plow ridge at the end of the drive, clear steps, check the chute after wet storms, keep the dock area clear of drifts. See clear snow during a storm or after.
Robot: Still on snow duty for late storms in many regions.
You: Watch the forecast. Once the last real storm has passed, clean and dry the Snow Blower module, check shear pins and the scraper, and store it covered. Clean the Core's tracks.
Robot: Lawn Mower Pro on. First cuts at a higher height, then lower as growth speeds up. Yarbo rates mowing up to 6 acres a week on the Y40 and 7 on the Y40P, at two cuts a week.
You: Walk the lawn for winter debris, sticks and toys before the first run. Check the blades. Update the map if beds or paths changed.
Robot: Mows on schedule. Yarbo rates the mower module IPX6 and lists cameras, ultrasonic sensors and a bumper for obstacle avoidance.
You: Raise the cut height in heat and drought. Clear clippings from the deck now and then. Keep pets and kids inside during runs; see are robot lawn mowers safe for pets and kids.
Robot: Still mowing. Leaves start to drop in some areas.
You: Check the Leaf Blower module and plan where leaves should go: beds, a wooded edge, or a pile for collection.
Robot: Swap between the mower and the Leaf Blower, or keep mowing to mulch light leaf fall; see can robot lawn mowers mulch leaves. The blower moves heavier leaf fall off lawns and paths.
You: Before the ground freezes, place driveway markers and run the first-snow driveway prep.

Robot: Snow Blower on for the first storms. Last leaf passes on dry days if needed.
You: Run the Yarbo winter checklist: firmware, map, dock, chute settings.
Swapping modules is designed to be done at home without a service visit. The modules are made to work with both the Y40 and Y40P Cores, per Yarbo. Allow time for cleaning and drying the outgoing module before storage, which takes longer than the swap itself.
If you want all three seasons, an all-module bundle saves buying modules one by one. If you mainly need snow and mowing, a two-module bundle works. Our which Yarbo package should you buy post lays out every bundle, and how much does a Yarbo cost explains what drives the price.
Yarbo gives a 2-year limited warranty on the Core and modules, per Yarbo's warranty policy. Yard Automation Pros helps you file and follow up on warranty claims with Yarbo. Yarbo orders ship free and arrive about 10 to 14 days after payment, so order before the season you need.
Each module spends most of the year waiting. Store it well and it is ready when its season comes:
A simple calendar reminder for each swap, with the checklist attached, makes the year run smoothly.
In regions with little snow, the Snow Blower module may only come out a few times a year, and the Core spends more months mowing. That changes the value: if you rarely get snow, the mower and leaf modules do most of the work. Our which Yarbo package post helps match the bundle to your climate.

With the Snow Blower module, it clears driveways and paths on a schedule or from the app, then returns to its dock to recharge.
Yes. The same Core takes the Lawn Mower Pro module in summer, the Leaf Blower in fall and the Snow Blower in winter. You swap modules by season.
After the last real snow of spring, usually March or April in northern areas. Clean and dry the snow module before storing it.
Yarbo rates up to 6 acres a week on the Y40 and 7 on the Y40P, at two cuts a week, with the Lawn Mower Pro module.
Yes, with the Leaf Blower module, which Yarbo rates at 174 mph and 607 CFM. The mower can also mulch light leaf fall.
Yes. Yarbo lists the mower, leaf blower and snow blower modules as working with both the Y40 and Y40P Cores.
Yarbo orders ship free and arrive about 10 to 14 days after payment, so order before the season you need it for.
